Spring Update 2025-Late March
This weather rollercoaster has been the story this winter. We went from a pretty cold and frozen over winter… to a very quick warm up to 70 F- then back to winter last few days end of March. Those with April and May dates should do well for steelhead since the Great Lakes and our Hardy and Croton reservoirs had a ton of ice for the first time in years. This will keep down the…

Made my point on my last post. Still have Early Black Stoneflies Hatching-Streamer bite time of year. Chinook parr have hatched. Should have fresh chrome still coming- get out and go fishing!

Gene Kelly from Boston with a stunning wild steelhead on St Pat’s weekend Water level-2700CFS- water temp- 41F Steelhead hitting gravel. Fresh chrome fish in pools crushing early black stones and freshly emerged Chinook salmon sac-fry. Fishing Report-March 11/2024
A stunning big female steelhead client took a few days ago- real tank! Water finally!!! came up to normal snow run-off levels thanks to rain- currently 3780 CFS-water temp: came down thank God!-39F Getting a push of fresh steelhead and walleye.
