Today is:

Massive runs of wild
Chinook and silver Coho
salmon ascend these
rivers from September
through the peak of
October.
These fish typically
range in the 10-15 pound
class, with several
approaching the 20-30
pound mark -
with several 40 pound
fish taken each season.
Nymphing with Hex
nymphs, green caddis and
small egg patterns,
these hard driving
"freight trains" will
perform aerial displays
and fight for over an
hour - truly big game
fishing!
We have come to enjoy
tremendously the early
to mid-September season
when the fresh salmon
are pooled up in the
deepest runs on the
river. Here they are
very aggressive in a
pre-spawn mode and will
crush large orange,
black and chartreuse
barred rabbit strip
T.REX flies on the strip
and swing. Incredible
aerial battles ensue
with these fresh
gargantuan freight
trains! |
